[Chapter 41-50]
Yu Zitong is a mysterious entity whose consciousness resides within Doctor Mo’s mind. He can communicate directly with Doctor Mo. He provided Doctor Mo with a cultivation technique and seems to have a stake in Doctor Mo’s plans, but their relationship is tense and filled with mutual suspicion.
[Chapter 51-60]
Yu Zitong was a member of a cultivator clan with mediocre talent, stuck at the Seventh Layer of Changchun Gong. After leaving seclusion, he enjoyed mortal luxuries. He was mortally wounded by Doctor Mo after a dispute over spiritual herbs. Before death, he cursed Mo and his soul escaped into Mo’s body. To avoid being assimilated and to seek a new body, he formed a treacherous pact with Mo, providing cultivation knowledge (like the Body Seizure technique and Seven Ghosts Soul Devouring Art) in exchange for Mo finding him a suitable body later. He secretly designed the ritual to cause Mo and Han Li to destroy each other, planning to take Han Li’s body for himself. His plan failed due to Han Li’s strength, and his soul was severely damaged and is now at Han Li’s mercy.
[Chapter 61-70]
Yu Zitong was an immortal cultivator whose physical body was destroyed. His soul (yuanshen) survived by parasitizing Doctor Mo. He conspired with Doctor Mo to seize Han Li’s body but was betrayed by Doctor Mo during the attempt. After Doctor Mo’s death, his soul was trapped and ultimately destroyed by Han Li using a combination of the ‘Seven Poison Water’ and sunlight, erasing his last trace from the world. He was characterized by Doctor Mo as inherently cold, ungrateful, and cowardly.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is Yu Zitong's relationship with Doctor Mo?
They seem to be in a forced cooperation. Yu Zitong provides knowledge (like a cultivation technique), and Doctor Mo carries out a plan that presumably benefits them both. However, Doctor Mo distrusts him and suspects him of sabotage.
What is Yu Zitong's current state?
He exists as a severely weakened disembodied soul (a green light sphere) with rapidly diminishing spiritual power. He has lost a significant portion of his soul essence to Han Li and can only perform minor illusions, posing no direct threat.
What was Yu Zitong's secret plan?
He intentionally gave Doctor Mo an incomplete version of the Body Seizure ritual, omitting the critical detail that success depends on the caster having greater spiritual power. He expected Doctor Mo and Han Li (with similar power levels) to annihilate each other's souls during the transfer, allowing him to take over the empty, undamaged body.
How was Yu Zitong's soul finally destroyed?
Han Li first weakened it with the 'Seven Poison Water' which hindered its spellcasting, then finished it off by exposing the weakened soul to direct sunlight, which it was vulnerable to.
What was Yu Zitong's opinion on the 'Iron Slave'?
He looked down on the 'Iron Slave' corpse, considering it a crude, incomplete creation far inferior to true high-level iron-armored corpses of immortal cultivators, only useful in the mortal world.
