Originally the natural Cave Spirit of the True Spirit Cave, a formless spiritual entity. It was later possessed and controlled by an avatar of a Heavenly Devil Monarch (天外魔君). This avatar was a wisp of ‘illusory qi’ (蜃气) that gained sentience. It used the Cave Spirit’s form to ambush and devour several previous seekers of the True Qilin Origin, absorbing the origin itself. It could transform into a massive ink-black qilin and use powerful dark lightning and the Great Devouring Art. It was ultimately killed by Han Li’s Soulcrying Beast, which revealed itself as its natural enemy, the ‘Punishment Beast’.

Initially appeared as a giant gray-white stone face. Later transformed into a hundreds-of-zhang tall ink-black qilin with the distorted face on its forehead. Inside its belly, it could manifest a黑袍男子 (black-robed, white-masked man) and countless clones.
