The Mulan spellcasters launched a surprise invasion. Using primordial giant beasts and strange, powerful spellcasters (possibly non-human), they defeated the main force of the Nine Nations Alliance in three consecutive battles. The alliance was forced to rely on defensive formations to hold key positions. Two Nascent Soul elders from the alliance were killed.
